Le Rondini is not an isolated farmhouse. It is in a tiny hamlet and near another restored farmhouse , but guests will have total privacy.
The area is rich in culture and tradition and is well located for day trips to any number of historical and artistic treasures. Todi is a lovely town which has been voted the most livable city in the world. Todi's winters are mild and local activities continue all year long including a winter jazz festival in nearby Orvieto and seasonal celebrations. Summers are warm and full of things to do with the Spoleto Festivale dei Due Mondi and Umbria Jazz festival in July and many smaller local arts presentations in July and August.

There is the atmosphere of an ancient medieval town in the cobblestone streets, in the beautiful Piazza del Popolo, and along the imposing walls. Todi was built by the Etruscans, rebuilt by the Romans and enjoyed an active role in Medieval Italy.
Today Todi is a small cosmopolitan center will all amenities in a beautiful setting.The Piazza del Popolo is the center of life in Todi, with two cathedrals, a museum in the Capitolo, with an archaeological collection and a nice collection of paintings of the Umbrian school, cafes, and shops. In the evenings, everybody gathers in the square. There is a wonderful language school, upscale shops, great restaurants and markets, two large parks, clay tennis courts (enclosed in the winter), a public pool with volleyball and basketball courts, and an indoor (winter) and an outdoor movie theater. The latter is situated in a large garden surrounded by Roman ruins. There is a supermarket about a ten minute drive from the house, and good specialty food shops in and around Todi.
The location is very convenient for visiting the other Umbrian towns of Perugia, Orvieto, Assisi, Spoleto, Deruta, Cortona, Arezzo, Gubbio, Bevagna, Spello and Norcia. The hill towns of Southern Tuscany are not far away, and Rome can be reached in under two hours. Florence and the Chianti countryside are just over two hours.
